Terms of Service

Last updated: October 4, 2026

1. Agreeing to these terms

These terms cover your use of TaroLens, an app for learning programming, algorithms, and computer science, made by Bright Studio, the trading name of Sang Nguyen, an individual developer based in Vietnam ("we" or "us"). By using TaroLens, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data. Please read it too. It's part of these terms.

TaroLens is available on Android through Google Play and on iOS through the App Store. When we say "the store", we mean whichever one you downloaded TaroLens from.

2. Who can use TaroLens

TaroLens teaches algorithms, data structures, computer-science fundamentals, and interview preparation. It's a learning tool, not a recruiting or job-placement service.

You need to be at least 13 to use TaroLens. If you're under 18, or under the age of adulthood where you live, you need a parent or guardian's permission to use TaroLens and to buy a subscription.

Keep your account to yourself. Don't share it, keep your password safe, and tell us if you think someone else is using your account.

3. Free and Pro content

Some lessons are free. Everything marked Pro in the app needs an active subscription. What's free and what's Pro may change as TaroLens grows.

4. Subscriptions

Billing and renewal

We may offer monthly, yearly, or other plans. You'll see the price and billing period before you buy. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel before then.

Payment is handled by the store. We use a service called RevenueCat to check whether your subscription is active. Neither we nor RevenueCat see your card details.

Cancelling

You cancel in the store where you subscribed (Google Play or App Store), not in TaroLens. After you cancel, you keep Pro until the end of the period you've already paid for. Deleting your TaroLens account or uninstalling the app does not cancel your subscription.

Refunds: refunds are handled by the store under its own refund policy, along with any consumer rights you have under your local law. To ask for a refund, see Google Play refunds or App Store refunds.

Price changes

We may change our plans or prices in the future. If a change affects your current subscription, the store will notify you first and, where required, ask for your consent.

5. Our content

TaroLens, including its lessons, explanations, visualizations, design, and code, belongs to Bright Studio or our licensors. You're welcome to use it for your own personal learning. Please don't copy, republish, sell, or share TaroLens content without our written permission.

Our lessons build on ideas that are widely shared in computer science, drawn from public sources like practice sites, documentation, and articles. We write our own explanations and don't copy other people's problem statements word for word. If you think something in TaroLens uses your work without permission, email brightstudio.dev@gmail.com and tell us which content it is. We'll look into it and fix or remove it if needed.

If you send us feedback or report a problem with a lesson, we may use it to improve TaroLens.

6. Things you can't do

When using TaroLens, please don't:

  • Reverse engineer or decompile the app, except where the law allows it.
  • Scrape or bulk-download content using bots or scripts.
  • Get around the paywall, share your account, or use someone else's payment method.
  • Attack the app, interfere with how it works, or upload anything harmful.
  • Break the law or infringe anyone else's rights.

7. Our responsibility

We work hard to make TaroLens accurate and reliable, but we provide it "as is". To the extent the law allows, we don't guarantee that the content is complete, error-free, or always up to date, or that the app will always be available.

TaroLens can help you prepare, but we can't promise any particular result, such as passing an interview, getting a job, or improving your grades. Code examples are for learning. Review and test them before using them in real projects.

To the extent the law allows, we aren't responsible for indirect or consequential losses from using TaroLens or being unable to use it, and our total responsibility to you is limited to the amount you paid for TaroLens in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50, whichever is greater. None of this limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived.

8. Ending your access

You can stop using TaroLens at any time, and you can delete your account as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, commit fraud or abuse, put the app's security at risk, or if the law requires it. If we close your account for breaking these terms, we don't have to refund any remaining subscription period.

If we ever shut TaroLens down, we'll give you notice in advance and stop future renewals.

9. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top of this page. For important changes, we may also let you know in the app. If you keep using TaroLens after the changes take effect, you accept the updated terms.

10. Using TaroLens on iOS

If you downloaded TaroLens from the App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. In addition:

  • These terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for TaroLens and its content.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for TaroLens.
  • If TaroLens doesn't meet a warranty that applies to it, you can tell Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. Apple has no other warranty obligation for TaroLens.
  • Apple isn't responsible for handling any claims about TaroLens, including product liability, legal compliance, or intellectual property claims.
  • You confirm that you're not in a country under a U.S. government embargo and not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and can enforce them against you.

If these terms and Apple's EULA conflict, Apple's EULA applies to your use of TaroLens on iOS, to the extent of the conflict.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam, and disputes will be handled by the courts of Vietnam. If you live elsewhere, you keep any consumer protections your local law gives you. If something goes wrong, please contact us first. Most issues can be sorted out by email.

12. General

  • We may transfer these terms to a new owner of TaroLens. If we do, they continue to apply between you and the new owner.
  • If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies.
  • If we don't enforce part of these terms right away, we can still enforce it later.
